This actual scene is at the top of a mountain in a little community called, "Love", Virginia. It is right next to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is just through the fog. This was the property of Mr. Saylor Coffey, who has since passed away and his son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Billy and Lynn Coffey, have inherited it. I wanted to go up on the mountain and look at an interesting tree I wanted to paint in a scene with wild turkeys. As Sonny and I drove down the mountain on the way home a freezing rain was starting, and it was bone-chilling cold. But, I told Sonny to stop the car when I looked over and saw this scene. Sonny couldn't imagine why I'd want to paint "that old place in this terrible weather!" But, he admitted that it was really pretty when I finished! There is a pair of doves, (look for em), in the scene, as they always go in pairs.
