This slate, and all of my "triangle-shaped" slates came from a 200 year old, octagon-shaped smokehouse in Bridgewater, Virginia.
An old, well-worn Bible sits atop an old piece of sheet music for the hymn, "Amazing Grace". A violin and bow sit nearby ready to use. I always put something "living" in all of my paintings. In this scene, the "living things" are the Bible, (living Word of God), and the lit candle represents the, "Holy Spirit". I copied the music for the song from my own church hymnal with a tiny, tiny brush! Whew! I needed my "close-up" glasses for that! Please scroll down to see similar paintings in stock. If ordering, please specify which particular painting you want by the color "background", (tan, blue, or black). If the one you want is already sold, I will substitute one of the others, unless told otherwise.
NOTE: THE PAINTING WITH THE TAN "BACKGROUND" WAS SOLD.
The Bible Scripture on this painting is:
"For by Grace you have been saved through Faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest anyone should boast."
