THIS PAGE WILL CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME AS REV. SONNY...

.....HAS SOMETHING NEW ON HIS MIND....

First of all, I'd like to introduce you to my wonderful, (I'm kind of prejudiced), husband, Rev. Gradon "Sonny" O'Kelly Pendergraft, Jr. He was born in December of 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina. If you ever talk with him in person it will be pretty evident that he is a true Southerner by his accent! No one ever forgets his voice! He is also a real, "Southern Gentleman", as well. If you are a woman, he will most likely kiss your hand and call you, "Darlin'". So, please don't be offended. It's pretty nice, actually! Oh, and ladies, don't be too jealous, Sonny also vacuums, does dishes, shops for food, and can cook! Plus, most importantly, he loves the Lord Jesus, and me, with all his heart and soul! (No, I can't "clone" him. Sorry.)

Sonny is extremely generous to those who are in need. But, he dosen't like to be taken advantage of! He is a man of convictions, a "real" man! We need more men like him! Sonny is a man of STRONG OPINIONS on a lot of subjects, and he dosen't mind being honest (and kind of loud, as he is hard of hearing), about them! Sonny dosen't lie....ever! If he tells you something, he believes it to be the truth! He has been fighting for women's rights, and the rights of anyone, or anything, being taken advantage of for many years. Sonny hates injustice, and lying!

Sonny served for two years in the U.S. Army in the mid-1950's, as a Corporal. This included an 18 month tour in Korea as a Supply Sergent, and a Chaplin's Assistant. After Korea, Sonny attended and graduated from V.P.I. (Virginia Tech University), in Blacksburg, Virginia. He earned  a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He also has some graduate courses in psychology. Sonny is a Registered Social Worker, and was also the Director of Social Services in Waynesboro, Virginia, for many years.

Sonny married Phyllis Sprouse and they had one daughter, Jimese Pendergraft Sherrill. Sonny and Phyllis were divorced after Jimese was grown and had completed law school. Sonny and I were married in 1992. We are friends with Phyllis, who lives nearby.

Sonny became an ordained, non-denominational, charismatic minister a few years ago when he was, "called", by the Holyy Spirit, to work for the Lord. The Lord Jesus took Sonny and turned him into, as the Bible says, "a new creation"! "Rev." Sonny mainly serves as a minister to those who don't have a regular church affiliation, or for those who don't have a regular pastor. If requested, he also performs marriages, baptisms, and funerals. He also helps me minister, and witness for the Lord through my artwork. After we were married  we then moved to Stuarts Draft, Virginia, and into our home, "Gra-Mar". (See: "Gra-Mar", Our Home).

Rev. Sonny has had frostbitten feet from his tour in Korea, two heart attacks, and survived cancer three times!  ( I tease him that he is being "held together" by duct tape and prayers! But, he really is a pretty darned tough cookie!) The Lord, along with excellent doctors, have brought him through it all! Sonny used to drink too much, and smoke, but quit years ago right after we married. Praise the Lord!

Everyone who does not know Jesus Christ as their Savior should do so now! The Lord says tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Read  Acts 16:31, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and YOU shall be saved.' It's just that simple, but I would love to discuss it with you if you will e-mail or phone me. "

This is a note from me instead of Sonny, this time. (Although he agrees with it, too!) We heard on a very well known news program that up to 71% of the churches today, (main-line and Evangelical as well), think that there are "other ways" to get to heaven besides belief in Jesus Christ! This is really shocking! The preachers are not only condoning this wrongful and damning thinking, but preaching it as well! They don't want to, "offend" or "insult" anyone. This is pure horse fertiziler in it's purest form and will take you straight to Hell! God the Father and Jesus His Son don't stutter, or mispeak. They said what they meant in the Bible. It's pretty darned clear!

Jesus said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3. Also, "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3: 15.  When Jesus spoke to the "woman of Samaria at the well". He said to her, "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth: for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). When He comes, He will tell us all things." Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." - John 4: 23 - 26. And also, "Thomas said to Him, 'Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?' Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14: 5, 6.

This is pretty darned clear, if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your Messiah, Lord and Savior, you ain't going to heaven any other way! You may be the most wonderful, thoughtful, smart, generous person on the planet. But, if you aren't "saved through belief in Christ as your Savior", you are going to go to Hell! I'm sorry, and God is sorry that you refuse to accept His Son as your Savior and Messiah. If you are Jewish and accept Him, you will go to Heaven. If you are any other religion on earth and accept Jesus, you will go to Heaven. Otherwise, you will go to Hell. God won't be the one sending you, you will seal your own fate and send yourself! If this offends you, too bad. I'd rather offend you and tell you the truth. Maybe it will sink in and you will get "saved"! Jesus offended a lot of folks too. The truth may hurt, but it will set you free as well. If you don't believe in Heaven or Hell, too bad. They are real, and everyone will go to one or the other when they die. Your spirit/soul lives forever, someplace. Choose Heaven. Choose Jesus, please!  He died for you, took your sins upon Himself so that you wouldn't have to be punished like the Devil and his demons (which are also real), in Hell , forever, and ever, and ever, etc. If you have been planning to accept Jesus one day before you die, but you aren't ready yet, that's a great plan! If you know when you are going to die! Or if you think you have to, "clean up your act" first, that's a stupid plan. How much is enough? What can you do that's better than what Jesus did for you? The answer is, you can't! Come as you are, with all your flaws. Jesus already knows what you've done, and He's ready to forgive and forget. He loves you so much He died for you! Who else has done that for you lately? He's the only one who can forgive your sins and wash you clean. Not religion of any kind, Buddha, Mohammad, your Guru, or your Momma, or good works can help you with this. Only Jesus can save you. Choose Him now!
